How heartening! Maybe there's more where that came from.
Yay for Joe! He was my senator for the first 21 years of my life (dear gods, I'm nearly to a point where that counts as HALF MY LIFE AUGH), and he was a flaming butthead. My parents, conservative Irish RCs, hated him because he was "liberal." Ha ha, sez I. I loathe him cordially because he's an ass. But he's a senior senator and can SAY things like this now, and I love that.
Now, if only JOHN KERRY would pull his head out of his nether regions and grow a spine.
