oh man, am I behind on posting

Ari woke up this morning convinced that our big project of the day would be making cookies. I could not talk him out of the cookie making. He's very good at staying the course, that boy. He does not cut and run from the cookie plans. Fine, I said, we'll make cookies. But first I have to clean the kitchen (lamb juice, inch-thick filth on stove, no clean counterspace anywhere, etc.) and then I have to mix the bread dough. And THEN we can make cookies.

So now it is 2:30 and my big accomplishment for the day is, surprise, having made cookies. Cleaning the kitchen, mixing bread dough, making and eating lunch, and making cookies with a nearly-three-year-old (interspersed with some fights about sitting on the potty, about why it's bad to turn the grain mill on and off every 20 seconds, about why we must wash the playdough covered cookie cutters before cutting the cookies...) took until now.

Blogging will have to wait.
