Our friends to the north

Much to my chagrin, it looks like Canadian voters are about to elect the Conservative party, bringing in the odious religious, pro-Bush reactionary Stephen Martin as PM. I feel awful for the non-loopy Canadians who won't vote for the Conservatives. On the other hand, I also feel that we (well, Amy, really) made a wise choice in investigating New Zealand as a safe haven, rather than Canada.
