Ah, if things had been different in 2000

from Kevin Drum, all about the overvotes.. Apparently, there were many tens of thousands of votes discarded because the voter BOTH punched the ballot for Gore, and wrote in his name. Voter intent was perfectly clear, but those votes were not counted. Not that we didn't know already that the election was stolen, but I do wish people would stop saying it turned out not to have been after all. I hear that all the time from liberal friends "well, didn't the papers determine that even with recounts Florida would have gone to Bush?" No, that is not what they determined. It just isn't.
