Why Not Move To Canada?
Not Far Enough Away:
OTTAWA -- The United States will decide when to fire missiles over Canadian airspace whether Canada likes it or not, says America's ambassador. The blunt warning from Paul Cellucci came minutes after Prime Minister Paul Martin announced yesterday that he will not sign on to the controversial U.S. missile defence program.Heh? Canada disagrees with the U.S., and so it has given up some of its sovereignty?
"We will deploy. We will defend North America," Cellucci said.
"We simply cannot understand why Canada would, in effect, give up its sovereignty -- its seat at the table -- to decide what to do about a missile that might be coming toward Canada."
The warning was no slip of the tongue -- Cellucci repeated several times that Canada's decision had handed over some of its sovereignty to the U.S.

Utterly illogical.
Speaking of illogical, why is nobody attacking SDI II as an absurd, impossible-to-engineer boondoggle? The late madman Edward Teller isn't around to defend it. I don't think any respectable scientists consider it workable.
My favorite justification of SDI II came when GWB started to push it right after 9/11, saying something along the lines of "now more than ever, it is clear we need to protect from bla bla bla..." OK, genius, how does a chimerical missile shield protect against a nuke smuggled into a port? Oh, and about that, why are your minions scuttling the proposed port security measures, all of which would have been far cheaper than SDI II? Is it because they think it's just blue-state pork?
Strategic Defense is the American Right's close relationship with the Divine made flesh. Which may be why it can't work.
