Wow, this is a real pants-shitter. If these guys are right, nothing will save democratic elections short of a popular uprising, which I don't see happening.
I haven't kept up with In These Times since the 80s, but back then they were perhaps the only very-left publication I didn't feel uncomfortable with - they were usually equable, and not prone to quease-inducing third-worldist romanticism, unlike say The Nation (and especially the odious, obvious crypto-anti-Semite Cockburn) sometimes is.
