Resurrecting the Report for Kerry and Edwards and A Stronger America

Just watched John Kerry's speech announcing Edwards as his running mate. Very exciting. We've been on political hiatus for a while but with the election only four months away we have to get back into action.

The speech was good. Glad Kerry is making health care such a central part of his platform. He just needs to keep hammering away that America is the only industrialized country in which health care is an increasingly unaffordable privilege.

Even families who are otherwise doing well struggle with their medical bills and medical insurance. Even if your insurance is supposed to pay for something, it usually takes three phonecalls to get them to do so. And even if money is not a problem, it is an offense to common sense to receive a several-thousand-dollars bill for a simple procedure. No one is immune to the obscenities of the current health care system.

We are better than this. We are stronger than this. We are wiser than this. We are squandering the blessings of our ancestors and the futures of our children. A terrible miscarriage of democracy happened in 2000 -- it is time to correct it.

Onward!
