The vile stuff

Why do I keep subjecting myself to the supremely self-righteous right-wing blogs like Little Green Footballs and the particularly odious Roger L. Simon? It reminds me of days in college when I would go to the library putatively to work, but would instead end up wasting hours reading a big stack of the terrifying John Birch journal The New American, and coming out utterly defeated and depressed.

One nugget gleaned from a Simon posting recently: Simon's smug affirmation of what he heard from some NYC cops during the RNC whcn they were rounding up protesters to stick in toxic-waste-contaminated garages: "It's as if fuggin' 9/11 never happened." Fucking EHH? I don't even know what to say to that.

Reading the sanctimonious crypto-fascisti doesn't make me feel any better informed -- just drained and defeated.
