I should definitely install Linux on our microwave. That might make it easier to set the display to indicate "YOUR COCOA IS READY" instead of "YOUR FOOD IS READY".
On the other hand, programming embedded C is a real pain in the ass. Maybe I can get Jeremy [bro-in-law with EECS degree - Ed.] to help out, and after 12 80-hour weeks, we'll finally have a microwave that indicates exactly what type of item is now "ready."
Worth the effort? Well, that depends on whether you went to MIT/CalTech or not.
