Re-erection
From yesterday's Salon:
While Ohio's electoral delegation will likely vote 20-0 in favor of reelecting the president today, agreement that Bush won the state remains far from unanimous."Reelecting"? Ah, we fight a losing battle for the history of this presidency. But please, for the record, once more, with feeling:
President George W. Bush was NOT ELECTED in 2000. Hence, even if he was elected in 2004, he cannot possibly have been "reelected." And Salon should know better.

Yeah, that steams me every time. He became president in 2001, yes. He was not, by any sane measure, elected in 2000. What about 2004? Maybe he was truly elected, maybe he wasn't. I don't think we'll ever know.
